Collection: Red Wine Gifts

Red wine gifts from Wine Club Canada come from small Canadian wineries, not a warehouse shelf. Every bottle is VQA (Vintners Quality Alliance) certified and picked by our tasting panel from Niagara or the Okanagan. Good for a birthday, a thank-you, or someone who just mentioned they like a bold red.

What's in a red wine gift box

Every red wine gift box comes from one featured Canadian winery. Right now that includes Bench 1775 Winery in British Columbia's Naramata Bench, Reif Estate Winery in Niagara-on-the-Lake, and Okanagan Crush Pad in Summerland, BC. Each bottle is VQA-certified, made from 100% Canadian grapes, and comes with tasting notes and a food pairing suggestion.

Pick the box size that fits. Two bottles work for a quick gift. Three or six suits someone who'll get through them. Twelve if they're serious about red wine.

A gift that keeps showing up

A one-time basket is nice. A red wine gift subscription is better if you want the gift to keep showing up. We run these as 3, 6, or 12-month terms, with a new Canadian red arriving each month.

It works the same way as our monthly wine subscription, just built around red wine specifically. Good for parents, a favourite coworker, or anyone who'd rather get a bottle in October than eat a fruitcake.

Why a small Canadian red beats another gift basket

Most red wine gift baskets are built around whatever's cheap and available, often wine that never touched Canadian soil. Ours isn't. Every bottle carries VQA certification, granted by the provincial wine authorities behind it.

Wine Growers Canada's own guide to Canadian wine labelling breaks down what that guarantees: grapes grown and bottled in Canada, reviewed and verified before the wine can carry the label. That means the Cabernet Sauvignon in your gift box came from a real vineyard in Niagara or the Okanagan, not a blend shipped in from somewhere else.

Not sure what to pour it with

A red wine gift is more welcome when the person knows what to eat with it. Cabernet Franc pairs well with tourtière or grilled Alberta beef. Merlot works just as well with a Montreal smoked meat sandwich or peameal bacon on a bun.

FAQs

What's included in a red wine gift box?

Each box centres on a single Canadian winery for the month, with hand-picked bottles, tasting notes, and a food pairing note for each one. Choose two, three, six, or twelve bottles depending on how big a gift you're after. A one-time basket and a subscription use the same bottles, just a different rhythm.

Can I customize a red wine gift?

Yes. Choose a one-time basket or a subscription, then pick the term length and bottle count that fits, both are flexible. You can also add a short personal note at checkout, which shows up printed with the delivery.

How far ahead should I order for a specific date?

Order early in the month you need it by. Boxes ship through our featured winery, and the earlier you order, the better the odds it arrives on time. Rural addresses can take a bit longer.

Do you handle corporate or bulk red wine gifting?

Yes. Our team looks at each corporate or bulk request individually and works out branding, quantities, and delivery from there. Reach out through our contact page or browse the corporate wine gifts collection to see what's involved.

Do you ship red wine gifts across Canada?

Yes, we ship to most of the country, though a few remote regions take longer or cost more due to freight rules. Delivery isn't free. Shipping is charged separately and calculated at checkout. Check our shipping policy for exact timing and any exceptions for your province.
