Collection: Canadian White Wine Baskets, Gifts and Subscriptions

White wine is made from grape juice without the skins, so it usually tastes lighter and crisper than red. Canada grows white grapes mostly in Niagara and the Okanagan. Everything in the grid is Canadian: a white wine gift basket, a gift subscription, a monthly subscription for yourself, or a corporate gift for clients and the team.

White wine by style

Riesling is often dry to gently off-dry, and Niagara grows plenty of it. Chardonnay from Canada tends to be cooler-climate, which usually means brighter acidity. Sauvignon Blanc is often zippy and citrusy. Pinot Gris is usually softer and rounder than Sauvignon Blanc, which can win over a friend who says they don't like white wine.

Five wineries we've featured in our monthly club: Reif Estate Winery, in Niagara-on-the-Lake, is known for Riesling. Leaning Post Wines makes Chardonnay from a vineyard on the Twenty Mile Bench in Niagara. Over in the Okanagan, Bench 1775 Winery on the Naramata Bench counts Sauvignon Blanc among its best-known wines, and Stoneboat Vineyards in Oliver has Pinot Gris as a core wine. Moon Curser Vineyards, also in the Okanagan at Osoyoos, makes Viognier, a fuller, more aromatic white than most.

Choosing a white wine gift

A basket is a one-time gift for a host or a birthday. For a client or the team, there is a white corporate gift. Shopping for a red drinker instead? Try our red wine gifts.

A gift subscription arrives every month, which suits someone far away or someone who likes trying new things.

White wine every month, for yourself

The White Wine Monthly Subscription is the same idea without the gift tag, so you don't need an occasion. Canadian white arrives each month, with tasting notes and pairing ideas.

What to serve with a Canadian white

A butter tart and an off-dry Riesling work together better than you'd think. Smoked salmon likes Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc is good with goat cheese and a green salad. For a weeknight roast chicken, try Pinot Gris.
