Order a wine gift basket in Toronto and most services hand you the same thing: a red, a white, some crackers, a chocolate bar, packed same day from a warehouse off the 401. Fine if speed is the whole point.

We build ours differently. Every Wine Club Canada gift basket centres on one confirmed Canadian winery, VQA-certified, shipped from Niagara or the Okanagan to a door anywhere in the GTA. No filler bottle, no unnamed blend standing in for the real thing. See what's currently featured in our wine gift baskets collection before you order.

What's actually in the basket

Recent baskets have featured wine from Bench 1775 Winery in BC's Okanagan Valley, Reif Estate Winery in Niagara, and Okanagan Crush Pad out west. All VQA-certified, meaning the grapes were grown and the wine made in the region the label claims, checked and confirmed, not just assumed.

Your basket ships in packaging built for wine, not a repurposed box. Add a message at checkout if it's headed somewhere you won't be.

That covers birthdays, a client thank-you, a housewarming, or genuinely no occasion at all. Corporate orders work too. Give us a little lead time and we will get the details right.

Why Toronto drinkers skip past the LCBO aisle

Most of what fills LCBO shelves in Toronto comes from Canada's largest producers or from overseas. That's not a knock on the LCBO. It just means plenty of small, genuinely good Canadian wineries never make it to a shelf you'd pass on Bloor Street.

That's the gap we fill, and it's the same reason our Toronto city page exists. A Niagara Cabernet Franc, sourced directly, does not need a distributor's markup to reach a table in the Annex or a condo in Liberty Village.

Pairing it with something local helps. A Beamsville Bench red holds its own next to peameal bacon or a plate from St. Lawrence Market. An off-dry Riesling does the same beside char siu from Chinatown, if that is closer to the occasion.

The wineries behind your basket

Bench 1775 Winery sits on the Naramata Bench above Penticton, in BC's Okanagan Valley, with vineyards running down to Okanagan Lake. Reif Estate Winery, in Niagara-on-the-Lake, is known for Riesling and other cool-climate whites.

Okanagan Crush Pad, based in the Okanagan Valley, works small batch and hands-on, the kind of producer you would otherwise have to drive out to find.

The featured winery rotates monthly, so check the current listing to see which one is shipping now. For the fuller picture of the province's wine country, our guide to Ontario's best wineries is worth a read.

Getting it to your door in Toronto

We ship across Toronto, the wider GTA, and the rest of Ontario, with delivery usually landing within a few business days of ordering. Shipping is calculated at checkout based on the address, so you see the real cost before paying rather than a flat number guessed in advance.

Rosedale, Etobicoke, Scarborough, doesn't matter which. Same process everywhere. If a specific date matters (a birthday, a client meeting), order a few days ahead and note it at checkout.

Ontario addresses are the simplest case. For the province-wide picture on what we offer beyond gift baskets, see our Ontario wine club page.

FAQs

Does someone need to be home to receive the wine gift basket?

Yes. Alcohol delivery in Canada requires an adult of legal drinking age to sign for the order, so someone needs to be available at the address you provide.

Is the wine actually from a Canadian winery, or a generic import?

Every basket features wine from one confirmed VQA-certified Canadian winery in that month's rotation, not a private-label blend put together to look local.

Can I add a gift message?

Yes, add a note at checkout and we will include it with the basket. The wine itself is not customizable, since it is tied to that month's featured winery.

The wineries behind your basket

It can. Weight and distance both factor into the cost, so a larger basket or a delivery further from Ontario may run more than a small one nearby. Checkout always shows the real total for your order.

Can I send a wine gift basket outside Ontario?

Often yes, though interprovincial alcohol shipping rules vary by province. Enter the delivery address at checkout and we will confirm if we can ship there.
