March 2025
Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON
Marynissen Estates Winery, located in the Four Mile Creek sub-appellation, is known for the oldest commercial planting of cabernet sauvignon in Canada. Purchased in 1953 by John and Adrianna Marynissen, they began growing classic European grape varietals like chardonnay and riesling in 1976.
Today, winemaker Mitch McCurdy, continues to honour the Marynissen's legacy by using a gentle touch and crafting wines in small lots to create a variety of styles that are enjoyed by wine enthusiasts and critics alike.
