For over 30 years, Southbrook has been crafting Ontario VQA wines made with respect for the vine and the earth in which it is grown. They begin in the vineyard, using organic, biodynamic and regenerative farming techniques that are followed by an artisanal winemaking process that permits a true expression of grape variety and terroir.

Appearance: Bright, straw colour.
Nose: Lightly toasty, apple nose.
Palate: Medium-bodied, dry, yellow apple flavour with well-integrated oak. Good length.
Quality: 90 points - Wine Club Canada. Drink now and through 2025.
Food Pairing: Hot honey toastie with triple crème brie and prosciutto, coconut shrimp with citrus dipping sauce, paprika-roasted chicken with lemon potatoes and kale, Sri Lankan green apple curry, and pork tenderloin stuffed with mushroom, spinach, and Gruyère cheese.
TRIOMPHE MERLOT, 2019

Appearance: Deep ruby-crimson in colour.
Nose: Tea leaf and cherry bouquet with vanilla oak notes.
Palate: Medium-bodied, firmly structured, well-integrated oak, dried red fruit flavours with evident, but ripe, tannins.

Food Pairing: Baked pasta with squash and sage in Gouda cheese sauce, gyozas with ginger dipping sauce, pork enchiladas with red chile sauce, steak tartare, and
grilled yogurt-marinated lamb.

Vineyard: Laundry Vineyard

Appearance: Pale straw colour with a hint of lime.
Nose: A bouquet of grapefruit, white pepper, and a thread of minerality.
Palate: Light-bodied, dry, grapefruit and lime flavours with a suggestion of honey. Lovely mouthfeel.
Quality: 91 points - Wine Club Canada. Outstanding. Can be opened now, but will last a decade because of its fine spine of acidity.
Food Pairing: Sweet and sour chicken, grilled halibut with citrus reduction, vegetables in Thai yellow curry over coconut rice, honey garlic-glazed meatballs, and lemon pepper-crusted seared scallops.

Appearance: Deep ruby-purple in colour.
Nose: Cedary, spicy, blackcurrant nose with sweet vanilla oak notes.
Palate: Medium-bodied, dry, red and blackcurrant flavours with well-integrated oak, ending on ripe tannins.
Quality: 89 – 91 points - Wine Club Canada. Very Good+ / Outstanding. Can be opened now, but
will reward cellaring for 1–2 years.
Food Pairing: Slow roasted pork and bell peppers, spice-braised chicken legs with red wine and tomato, beef lasagne, braised escarole with cannellini beans and parmesan, and bison burgers with the works.

Palate: Medium acid, medium tannin, medium body. Rich flavours of blackberry, cassis, black pepper, and a green vegetal note on the finish. Beautifully structured with a round mouthfeel and long finish.
