WineCollective

WineCollective started right here. David Gluzman launched it in Calgary in 2009, and it's since grown to ship across Canada. A bricks-and-mortar store followed in 2014: Highfield by WineCollective, on Highfield Crescent SE, where members can browse and pick up in person instead of waiting on a delivery.

Five tiers run from about $57 for a two-bottle box up to roughly $156 for a premium four-bottle set. 5 Vines Vine Club

5 Vines runs five locations around Calgary, Downtown, Mahogany, Wildwood, Bridgeland, and West Market Square, and its Vine Club splits into two tiers: the Taster at $75 a month for three bottles, and the Enthusiast at $140 for six. Both are curated by the store's own team, with a stated focus on limited releases you won't find on a general shelf.

Pickup is free after the 10th of each month at any of their five locations. Delivery costs $15 within Calgary city limits, $20 if you're out in Airdrie, Cochrane, Okotoks, or Chestermere. Members get a 10% discount on featured wines and first access to rare bottles, plus event invitations. There's a 30-day exchange window if a bottle arrives corked, and you can hold your subscription for up to 60 days if you're travelling. Vine Arts

The Vin Bin program, run out of six Calgary Co-op Wine Spirits Beer locations (Beddington, Mount Pleasant, Crowfoot, Midtown, Oakridge, and Shawnessy), is the most personal option here. You sit down with a sommelier, set a monthly budget of at least $150, and they hand-pick bottles around your actual taste instead of a fixed tier. Your picks show up in a dedicated in-store cabinet at your chosen location, ready for pickup.

Beyond the monthly picks, members get a personal concierge for sourcing special or hard-to-find bottles, meal-pairing recommendations, and invitations to in-store classes and tastings. It plays out more like an ongoing relationship with someone who knows what you like than a standard subscription box. That comes at a real cost: a $150 monthly floor puts it well above every other option on this list, and it only makes sense if you're already a regular at one of those six stores.

Wine Club Canada
